Rogers, Robert. Ponteach, or The Savages of America: A Tragedy. Chicago: The Caxton Club, 1914. Limited to 178 copies on Old Stratford paper. With an introduction and a biography of Robert Rogers by Allan Nevins. Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Rogers, a map of the Mackinac area, a view of the Straits of Mackinac and a facsimile of the title page of Ponteach, 1766. 

Bound in 3/4 dark green morocco by James MacDonald Co., with two bands to spine and large central compartment featuring an inlaid red label with the title, and inlaid light brown label with the author, and the remainder of the space tooled with gilt fleurons and fillets. Small red label in the bottom compartment noting "Limited / 1914". Striking green, blue, and gilt marbled paper boards, the same paper utilized for the endpapers. Top edge gilt. Measures approx. 6.75" x 9.75". Leather edges and spine faded to dark brown, some light rubbing, mostly at corners.
