Bound in full brown crushed morocco with elaborate gilt border built up of various fleuron tools and gilt-rolled cross-hatching the corners. Spines with two widely-spaced bands delineating large title compartments, with small fleurons in top and bottom compartments. Gilt-rolled turn-ins with brown & olive mottled endpapers. Top edges gilt. light toning to fore-edges and bottom edges. Slender personal bookplate of Abel E. Berland on front pastedown of both volumes. Measures approx. 4.5" x 5.5". Some offsetting to endpapers, a few spots of light rubbing to edges. Spines a touch darkened.
