Bird, James (Clerk of the Council). Opening of the King Edward Memorial Park, Shadwell, by His Majesty the King on 24th of June, 1922. London County Council, 1922. Four black & white plates. Bound by H.J. Morgan (see below) in full deep red crushed morocco with large inner frame to the front cover made up of fillets and floral tooling, surrounding the title at the top of the frame and date of the opening at the bottom, with large circular wreath in gilt of leaves, flowers, a crown, the initials "G" and "R", accented with intertwining vines. Floral tools at the corners and center edges of both boards. Five bands to spine with gilt ruled compartments. Gilt-ruled turn-ins with floral tools at corners, plain endpapers, all edges gilt. Measures approx. 8" x 10". Spine tips worn, some rubbing to edges, corners bumped. Offsetting to endpapers.
Inscription to ffep notes: "Bound & tooled by H. J. Morgan as a student at the L.C.C. School of Arts and Crafts, Southampton Row, London, WC1". Another of Morgan's volumes was reproduced in "The Bookman's Journal" in 1923, detailing an exhibition held at the school.
