Goudy notes in the colophon:
"Evening at Deepdene was written by him in Autumn, 1923, under the spell of the place. It is here set in his “Deepdene Italic” type, named for the place and cast in matrices engraved by Bertha M. Goudy from his designs. This broadside folder has been set at The Village Press at Marlborough, New York, and printed on Hazelbourn Ivory Paper, with cover provided by Hurlbut Paper Company - the collotype reproduction of the Falls contributed by The Meriden Gravure Company - as a keepsake for presentation to pilgrims to the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Press, July 23, 1938."
